Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport Golden Eagles men's and women's outdoor track and field teams traveled to Lewisburg, PA to compete at the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic, delivering a strong showing across the two-day competition.
Men's Team
In the unseeded men's 1500m, Howie Vargas placed 16th with a time of 3:59.54, meeting the regional qualifying standard.
Timothy Smith delivered an outstanding performance in the 800m, finishing 12th overall while recording a time of 1:52.20. His mark ranks second all-time in program history and meets the regional qualifying standard.
Jared Smith turned in a dominant effort in the 10,000m, breaking a 38-year-old school record with a time of 30:14.48 to place 18th overall. Smith now ranks 22nd nationally and secured qualification for regionals.
In the 400m, Michael Durski posted a strong performance, finishing 13th with a time of 48.88 seconds. He also competed in the 200m, placing 31st in 22.16 seconds.
Timothy Smith and Ayden Grinion both excelled in the 400m hurdles. Smith earned a second-place finish in 53.09 seconds, while Grinion followed closely in third with a time of 53.11 seconds.
Women's Team
Salma Moumen opened competition with a 21st-place finish in the 5000m, clocking in at 18:13.73. Her performance ranks 10th all-time in program history and qualified her for regionals.
In the 10,000m, Hailey Morrison placed 11th with a time of 40:28.82, earning a regional qualifying mark.
Ethne Degan delivered a standout performance in the invitational 1500m, finishing 36th with a time of 4:34.84. Degan broke her own school record, moved to 24th nationally in Division III, and secured a spot at regionals.
Sasha Schramm placed 23rd in the triple jump with a mark of 10.58 meters.
In the 400m hurdles, Alexis Rodriguez finished 28th in 1:05.47.
The 4x400 relay team of Courtney Bostic, Monica Cammarota, Ariana Proper, and Alexis Rodriguez earned an eighth-place finish with a time of 3:59.05. The performance ranks fourth all-time in program history.
The Golden Eagles will conclude competition at the Brockport Multi Meet on Monday, April 13 at 12 p.m., before traveling to compete at the University of Rochester on Saturday, April 18.
