Brockport, NY – The men's and women's outdoor track and field teams finished up day 1 of the Brockport Multi Meet with promising results. Prior to the start, the Golden Eagles celebrated senior day, honoring their 29 seniors for their hard work and dedication to the program.
Men's Team
Nahuel Gutierrez finished strong in the 3000m steeplechase, fighing for second place with a time of 10:20.30.
In the 110m hurdles,
Jeremy Chen took second place with a regional qualifying time of 15.08 seconds.
Derek Grimshaw had a day in the 100m, taking first place from an 11.05 second sprint.
Clinching a third place spot in the 800m was
Eduardo Salinas, crossing the line in 1:58.55.
Jeremy Chen and
Nick Puma took first and second in the 400m hurdles. Chen finished with an AARTFC qualifying time of 54.80 seconds and Puma ran for 57.60 seconds.
In the 5000m,
JJ Montemaro ran for 15:45.57 to take seventh place.
Finishing off the day strong for the Green and Gold was
Alejandro Roberts in the 10000 making second place at 35:47.89.
Brockport's 4x400 team of
Brian Cappellini,
Eduardo Salinas,
Tyler Grossman, and
Colin Fletcher-Foster took fourth place in the event from a time of 3:33.08.
Dillon Murphy finished up in eighth place in the high jump, clearing the pole at 1.78m.
Allen Reome took sixth in the javelin with a distance of 44.39m.
Lam Stempien and
Hunter Richards took seventh and eighth in the hammer throw with Stempien throwing for 46.56m and Richards for 45.87m.
In the discus,
Hunter Richards finished the day clinching third at 41.38m.
Duncan Harbin took seventh at 39.60m.
Women's Team
Megan Wilson started the day strong for the Green and Gold, clinching third in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 12:38.51.
In the 1500m, Salvatrice Piccolo finished up in sixth place from a mark of 5:01.45.
Ellie Cusmano ran for 17.23 seconds in the 100m hurdles to take sixth place.
Elaina Neubert had an impressive fifth place finish in the 400m hurdles from a time of 1:09.16.
In the triple jump, Abby Zeh had a strong jump of 11.07 meters to take second place. Zeh also had a day in the high jump, taking fifth at 1.45m.
Isabel Swyers and Kora Dininny tied for ninth place in the pole vault, clearing the pole at 3.10 meters.
In the shotput Trinity Dees had a strong throw of 12.18 meters to take first, and Bella Rivera threw for 11.16m to finish in sixth place.
Madison Kirkpatrick finished in seventh place in the javelin from a 30.57m throw.
In the hammer throw, Bella Rivera showed out with a second-place spot from a 45.33m throw. Cora Hotchkiss took fourth at 43.45m.
In the discus, Mekenna Uhl finished up taking eighth from a 36.28m throw.
The Golden Eagles are set to finish up the Brockport Multi Meet Monday, April 13
th at 12pm, and will be on the road to the University of Rochester on Saturday, April 18
th.
