Brockport, NY – The women's lacrosse team fell to the St. John Fisher Cardinals, 17–2, in a challenging road matchup. With the result, the Golden Eagles move to 4–2 in conference play heading into the weekend.
The Cardinals controlled possession throughout the opening quarter, scoring seven unanswered goals. Fisher carried that momentum into the second quarter, adding two more goals before Hailey Lewkovich broke through the Cardinals' defense to put Brockport on the board. Late in the contest, Amanda Evans capitalized on a free-position opportunity, slipping the ball past the goalkeeper to record the Golden Eagles' second goal.
Facing consistent pressure in the net, Marion Wheeler recorded eight saves over 48 minutes of play. Defensively, Christina Ross and Kaeli McCarthy each caused a turnover and combined for two ground balls.
As a team, Brockport collected 11 ground balls and forced eight turnovers on the day.
