Brockport, NY – Brockport's women's soccer team hosts Oneonta on Wednesday, September 16^th, for College Education and Health Night at 4pm. Then the Golden Eagles will head to Utica on Saturday, September 19^th, for their Empire 8 Opener at 1pm. 

Last Week Recap: The team went to Buffalo State on Wednesday, September 9^th, and came back with a win of 3-1. Kaitlyn Spring and Amelia Breton brought on the offensive pressure at the beginning of the game, scoring in the 27^th and 35^th minute. Breton continued her momentum throughout the second half, scoring just 28 seconds into the half. The two-goal performance highlighted a five-shot afternoon for Breton, who put four of her attempts on target. Buffalo State eventually cut into the deficit in the 83rd minute when Kaylee Lockwood scored, but the Golden Eagles held on defensively to secure the 3-1 victory. Emily McCane started in goal and recorded two saves, keeping Buffalo State off the scoreboard for 65 minutes. Cameryn Childs played the final 25 minutes and added one save.
    
The team headed back home against Dickinson on Saturday, September 12^th, where the score was tied 1-1. Dickinson opened the scoring at 37:57 when Anna Bitsko found the net on an assist from Mamady Bangoura. The Red Devils took over the momentum in the game by outshooting Brockport 10-3. Emily McCane has been a defensive wall for the Golden Eagles. She made five saves against Dickinson and played the entire 90 minutes. In the 83^rd minute, McKenna Slate hit the net to bring the score to 1-1. 

Players to Highlight: Amelia Breton has been an offensive machine. She has three goals this season, including a two-goal performance against Buffalo State and a hat trick against John Carroll. She also leads Brockport with five shots in that game alone, showing her dominance on offense. McKenna Slate has been one of Brockport's most clutch offensive players early in the season. She scored the game-tying goal against Dickinson in the 83rd minute, helping Brockport earn a 1-1 draw against an undefeated Dickinson team. Emily McCane has been a major presence in goal. Against Dickinson, she played all 90 minutes and made five saves, helping Brockport hold Dickinson to just one goal despite 17 shots. Kaitlyn Spring has already made an impact offensively, scoring Brockport's first goal against Buffalo State. She also had two shots, one on goal, against Dickinson, continuing to provide an attacking threat. Brianna Marino has quietly been an important piece early in the season. Against Dickinson, she recorded a shot on goal and two corner kicks, including the two consecutive corners Brockport earned late in the match.

Scouting Oneonta: The Red Dragons enter Wednesday's matchup with a 1-2-1 record, opening the season with a 2-2 draw at Hartwick before falling to Clarkson, 2-1. Oneonta responded with a 1-0 shutout win over New Paltz before dropping a 1-0 decision at Skidmore on Saturday. The Red Dragons have scored four goals through four games while holding opponents to five goals.

Scouting SUNY Poly: The Wildcats currently hold a 2-2-1 record, beginning the season with a 3-3 draw at SUNY Canton before earning back-to-back wins over Hilbert, 2-0, and SUNY Morrisville, 1-0. SUNY Poly has since dropped consecutive games to Bard, 2-0, and Marywood, 4-0, with the Wildcats being held to just three shots in Saturday's loss to Marywood.
