Brockport, NY – Brockport Football returns home for Week 3 for the 2026 SUNY Brockport Homecoming & Family Weekend on Saturday. The Golden Eagles will host Renssalaer Polytechnic Institute for a 1pm kickoff on Bob Boozer Field.

Brockport Homecoming & Family Weekend: Just like every year, SUNY Brockport is going all out for its Homecoming & Family Weekend to welcome past and present Golden Eagles for a fun weekend. Starting on Thursday (9/17) different special events will be held around campus to celebrate. The highlights of Homecoming & Family Weekend include the village parade, the football and soccer games, a festival, a comedy show, and fireworks! Recap of Week 2: The Golden Eagles suffered a tough loss in Week 2 on the road against Hobart College, 27-14, moving to 1-1 on the season.
 
Offensively, Brockport narrowly outgained Hobart, 293-254 in yards of total offense. However, despite some strong individual performances on both sides of the ball, six total turnovers plagued the Golden Eagles in this one.

Hobart took an early 3-0 lead with a 42-yard field goal in the opening minutes of the game after one of two first quarter interceptions from Ben Gocella. Brockport was able to take the lead near the 5-minute mark, 7-0. Zymier Jackson found Nolan Slywka for a 23-yard touchdown pass. However, the Statesmen retook the lead going into the second quarter, 10-7.
 
The second quarter saw the Statesmen double their point total with 10 more before halftime. They knocked through a 23-yard field goal to go up, 13-7, and then found the end zone 19 seconds before halftime to make it 20-7.
 
Looking to get the Golden Eagles back into the game, Derrion Battle broke loose for a 21-yard touchdown in the third quarter. The extra point from Christopher Bascetta made it a 20-14 game with plenty of time on the clock.
 
The game stalled with both defenses getting stops, but time was running out for Brockport to make a move. Just after the 2-minute timeout, Gocella was picked for the fifth time in the contest by Zeshan Dixon. Dixon's third interception of the game sealed the 27-14 win as he ran it back 67 yards for a touchdown.
 
D3football.com Team of the Week:  Nazhier Wilson was selected to the D3football.com Team of the Week for Week 2 of the 2026 Division III college football season, as announced on Tuesday, September 15.

The Rochester, NY native, earned his first career national Team of the Week selection following a dominant defensive performance on the road against Hobart College this past Saturday.

The second-year linebacker was a constant force for the Green and Gold defense, setting new career-high marks across the board in solo, assisted, and total tackles. Wilson racked up seven solo tackles and added 10 assisted stops to finish with 17 total tackles on the afternoon. In addition to anchoring Brockport's front seven, Wilson applied steady pressure on the Statesmen backfield throughout the contest, crediting three quarterback hurries.

The reigning Empire 8 Rookie of the Year and ECAC Division III Rookie of the Year picks up his first national weekly honor of the 2026 campaign as he continues to lead the Golden Eagles' defensive unit.
 
Career Day for Slywka: Despite the loss in Week 2, Nolan Slywka also set career-high marks as the top wideout for the Golden Eagles. He finished with 10 receptions, 146 receiving yards (both career-bests), and caught his third touchdown of the year. After his career-best showing last week, Slywka enters Week 3 averaging 8 receptions and 114 yards a game for the Golden Eagle offense.
 
Scouting RPI: The RPI Engineers head into the matchup this weekend at 1-1, following a 38-14 loss to Utica in Week 2. They began the season with a 35-7 victory over WPI at home. RPI's offense is generating 24.5 points per game from an average of 290.5 yards of total offense. Kayden White leads the rushing attack with three touchdowns, rushing for 77.5 yards per game. Micah Balzarini calls the signals as the starting QB, throwing for 377 yards and three touchdowns so far this year. RPI won the matchup against Brockport in 2025, 30-24, in overtime. It was White's 15-yard run that sealed the win for the Engineers.
 
Looking Ahead: The Golden Eagles will head out of town for Week 4, as they open conference play against the Hartwick College Hawks. This E8 clash is set to start on Saturday, September 26^th at 12pm out in Oneonta, NY.
