Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport football team took down RPI at home to celebrate the 2026 Homecoming & Family Weekend at Brockport. The Golden Eagles improved to 2-1 following the 45-10 victory over the Engineers.
Zymier Jackson got the start for Brockport at QB, picking up the first win of his career as the starter. He went 10-for-18 with 188 passing yards and a pair of touchdowns through the air. He also added 66 rushing yards on 10 carries. On his first snap of the game, he hit
Kyle Slywka for a 75-yard touchdown.
The Golden Eagles finished with 581 yards of total offense in the game, compared to just 185 for RPI.
Derrion Battle found the end zone twice, once on the ground and once through the air. He ran for 149 yards and a score on just 15 carries. His lone catch was an impressive 45-yard receiving touchdown.
Anthony Vino was the second-leading rusher against RPI with 92 yards on seven carries, with two touchdowns.
Defensively, Brockport forced four turnovers and allowed just 10 first downs all game. Across 32 rushing attempts, RPI was held to just 74 yards and 2.3 yards per carry.
Darius Cervi (13 total tackles) and
Nazhier Wilson (11 total tackles) led the way for the defense.
Austyn Gollnitz finished with a full line including six tackles, one sack, a forced fumble, and an interception.
Brady Schnell and
Alima Kamano both picked off the RPI quarterback as well.
Brockport posted 28 points in the first half on the way to a dominant, 45-10, victory on homecoming. Now at 2-1, the Golden Eagles hit the road next week to begin Empire 8 play. They travel to face Hartwick for Week 4, kickoff is set for 12pm on Saturday, September 26
