BROCKPORT, NY - The Brockport men's and women's cross-country teams finished competing in the Harry F. Anderson Invitational at Roberts Wesleyan on Saturday, September 26th. The women's team finished sixth (189 points), and the men's team finished fifth (168 points).
Men's Team
Senior Jace Stuart led the Golden Eagles, crossing the finish line in 25:22.4 to place fourth overall. Stuart finished just 15.5 seconds behind race winner Jackson Doran of Roberts Wesleyan.
Junior Brady Ruediger followed with a 25:55.3 performance, placing 11th overall. Ruediger finished less than 33 seconds behind Stuart and gave Brockport two runners inside the overall top 11.
Sophomore Sam Faga was Brockport's third finisher, recording a time of 26:40.2 to place 40th overall. Freshman Louden Heller rounded out Brockport's top four with a 26:58.3 finish, good for 57th overall.
The Golden Eagles continued to add depth behind their top four. Junior Kyle Deromanis finished 75th in 27:19.5, followed by junior Thomas Canestrari, who placed 80th in 27:29.0. Junior Kyle Lovenguth completed Brockport's top seven, finishing 81st in 27:29.4.
Brockport's remaining top-10 finishers were senior Caleb Belanger, who placed 88th in 27:40.0; sophomore Ethan Stauffer, who finished 90th in 27:41.9; and junior Tyler Grossman, who crossed in 27:51.8 to place 93rd.
Women's Team
Leading the way with a sixth-place finish was junior Ethne Degan, with the Golden Eagles placing four runners inside the top 100 and nine among the top 160 finishers.
Degan led Brockport with an 18:30.9 performance, finishing sixth overall and just 37.7 seconds behind race winner Melissa Innocent of Cortland State.
Freshman Jaelyn Jordan was Brockport's second finisher, crossing in 19:44.3 to place 41st overall. Jordan finished 13th among the first 50 runners and helped keep Brockport's pack moving behind Degan.
Another freshman, Grace Kosmoski, followed closely with a 19:51.4 finish, placing 46th overall. Freshman Reese Roberts rounded out Brockport's top four, recording a time of 19:58.0 to finish 52nd overall.
Junior Salvatrice Piccolo was Brockport's fifth finisher, placing 61st in 20:09.5. Junior Peyton Long followed in 71st with a 20:22.0 performance, while junior Lily Pink finished 101st in 20:57.1.
Brockport's final three runners among the team's top 10 were freshman Michala Faulkner, who placed 109th in 21:18.9; junior Stephanie Onderdonk, who finished 118th in 21:38.9; and sophomore Rachael Gray, who crossed in 123rd with a time of 21:50.9.
