Brockport, NY - The Brockport cross-country teams started the 2026 season strong at the Tom Balon Alumni Classic on Saturday, September 5th. The women's team finished first (47 points) of eight teams, while the men's team finished third (67 points) of 10 teams.
Men's Team:
Jace Stuart provided an excellent effort in his first race with the Golden Eagles, earning a fourth-place finish with a 16:03 mark.
Senior Tim Smith followed with another strong performance, placing seventh overall with a time of 16:20.9. Smith finished less than 18 seconds behind Stuart to give Brockport
two runners in the top seven.
Junior Brady Ruediger continued Brockport's strong showing at the front of the field, finishing 13th overall in 16:36.2. Sophomore Sam Faga rounded out the Golden Eagles' first four finishers, taking 17th in 16:43.4.
Brockport's depth continued with sophomore Eduardo Salinas, who crossed in 26th place at 17:08.0. Freshman Dylan Bachman followed in 31st with a time of 17:14.5.
Freshman Oliver Fernaays placed 36th overall in 17:18.9, while junior Kyle Deromanis finished 41st at 17:21.1. Sophomore Colin Fletcher-Foster and junior Thomas Canestrari completed Brockport's top 10, finishing 42nd and 43rd, respectively.
Fletcher-Foster recorded a time of 17:21.2, while Canestrari crossed just two-tenths of a second later in 17:21.4, demonstrating the tight pack racing among the Golden Eagles.
Women's Team:
Junior Ethne Degan led the way for Brockport, crossing the finish line in 19:47.2 to secure second place overall. The junior finished just 49.7 seconds behind the individual winner and established herself among the top runners in the field.
Freshman Jaelyn Jordan delivered a strong performance in her first group of Brockport finishers, placing seventh overall with a time of 20:44.7. Jordan's performance gave the Golden Eagles two runners inside the top seven.
Another freshman, Reese Roberts, followed closely behind, finishing ninth overall in 20:47.0. Roberts crossed just 2.3 seconds behind Jordan, giving Brockport three runners inside the top 10.
Sophomore Salma Moumen continued the Golden Eagles' strong showing, placing 13th overall with a time of 20:54.0. Freshman Grace Kosmoski rounded out Brockport's first five finishers, taking 15th in 20:56.7.
Brockport's depth continued with junior Salvatrice Piccolo, who finished 22nd overall in 21:10.3, followed by junior Aaliyah Wright in 25th at 21:20.0.
Senior Megan Wilson crossed the line in 31st place with a time of 21:35.4, while freshman Sabine Yannone finished 36th in 21:44.9. Sophomore Isabel Laney completed Brockport's top 10, placing 37th overall in 21:46.2.
