Brockport, NY - The women's soccer team suffered its first loss of the 2026 season on Sunday evening, falling 5-1 to Penn State Behrend at Behrend Stadium. With the result, the Golden Eagles move to 2-1-0 on the season, while the Lions improve to 2-0-1.
Penn State Behrend got on the board early, scoring just 3:27 into the contest to take a 1-0 lead. Brockport responded moments later, as
Brianna Marino struck the crossbar in the fourth minute.
The Lions continued to apply pressure and doubled their advantage in the 25th minute when Bri Ross found the back of the net. Penn State Behrend took a 2-0 lead into halftime after holding Brockport to two shots during the opening 45 minutes.
Behrend added two goals early in the second half, scoring in the 54th and 56th minutes to extend its lead to 4-0.
Brockport continued to battle and broke through in the 69th minute.
Jordan Chizuk scored her first goal of the season off an assist from
Sophia Brooks, cutting the deficit to 4-1.
The Golden Eagles continued to look for additional opportunities, but Behrend added a fifth goal in the 89th minute to secure the 5-1 victory.
Brockport finished the contest with four shots, including two on goal.
Alana Yahoudy and
Amelia Breton each recorded one shot, while Chizuk registered one shot on goal and scored the Golden Eagles' lone goal. Brooks earned the assist on Chizuk's goal.
In goal,
Emily McCane played all 90 minutes and made one save. Behrend goalkeeper Gabriella Green also played the full contest and made one save.
Penn State Behrend controlled much of the offensive action, finishing with 14 shots and six corner kicks. The Golden Eagles did not record a corner kick in the contest.
