Marla attended Wren High School and competed at the club level for Palmetto Gymnastics Academy. She was a level 8 and 9 regional team member, and a four year all around state champion. She has one sibling and is the daughter of Nicole Cooper. Marla is obtaining a major in Exercise Physiology/Kinesiology-Sport Science-Physical Education.
