Kurmis is a graduate of East Rochester High School, where she was named Varsity Captain and MVP both her junior and senior year. She is the daughter of Tracy Hoffarth, and has three siblings, Bill Abdo, Lindsey Dawson and Amy Kurmis. She is seeking a degree in History and her Teacher Certification.
