Frequently Asked Questions

 

1. Does the school pay for any medical bills while I am at The College at Brockport?
   Any medical care, which is the direct result of athletics participation, sought while the student-athlete is participating in intercollegiate sports, will be paid by each individual student-athlete’s insurance. The College at Brockport is not responsible for any medical bills as a result of an athletic injury/care. Please reference the Parental Insurance Acknowledgement Letter for more info here.
2. If I sustain an injury or illness at The College at Brockport whom should I contact?
   Any injury or illness the student-athlete sustains is the responsibility of that individual to report it to the Athletic Training Staff immediately to receive the best possible care. Student Health Services may be utilized in the cases where a member of the Athletic Training Staff if not available.
3. What happens if I am injured outside of my participation in intercollegiate sports?
   The student-athlete is responsible to report the injury or illness to the Athletic Training staff to receive proper treatment.
4. Am I required to have medical insurance to participate in intercollegiate athletics?
   Yes, medical insurance is a prerequisite to participate in intercollegiate athletics
5. What paper work is necessary prior to trying out for a team?
   Incoming freshman and new athletes, can find them on the forms page.
   Returning student-athletes, can find them on the forms page.
6. Can I participate if I don’t have all my forms filled out?
   If you are lacking any forms you will not be allowed to participate in practices or games until all paperwork has been completed and turned into the Athletic Training Staff and Hazen Health center.
7. Is there transportation for appointments off campus?

All student-athletes must find their own transportation to off campus appointments.
