Rachel Bannatyne

Rachel Bannatyne joined the Brockport field hockey team as an assistant coach in the Summer of 2024. She will be responsible for assisting Head Coach Krista Archambeau with all facets of the Golden Eagle field hockey program. 

Instant Impact: In her first season under head coach Krista Archambeau, Bannatyne helped lead the Golden Eagles to a 13-6 record with a 7-2 conference mark in Empire 8 competition. Bannatyne's first season saw Brockport post the most single-season wins since 1994 (14), coaching seven All-Conference recipients, and three All-Region athletes, including Empire 8 Goalkeeper of the Year Ella Buchanan.      

Before coaching, Bannatyne played field hockey at Lindenwood University, competing at both the Division I and Division II levels. For her career, she recorded a total of 28 starts and appeared in 45 games for the Lions. A graduate of the High School of Glasgow in Glasgow, Scotland, she was a three-year varsity starter throughout her high school playing career.

In the classroom, Bannatyne was recognized as a member of the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Academic squad all four years, as well as being part of the NFHCA Division 1 Scholars of Distinction in 2023. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree from Lindenwood University in Sport Management with a minor in Marketing and is currently pursuing her MBA at SUNY Brockport.
