Summary

Biography

Alex is a graduate of Northport High School, where he was named to the All-Division and All-County team and played in the All-Star game. He is the son of Michael and Marie Egglinger, and has one sibling, Scott. Alex is seeking a degree in Exercise Physiology.
 
In his freshman campaign, Alex earned SUNYAC All-Academic honors, and saw action in every game as a reserve and on special teams units, accounting for nine tackles with five solo stops. His role increased over time, as in 2014, Alex saw action in all 10 games for the Golden Eagles. The linebacker picked up 24 tackles, including 12 unassisted tackles. He also added 3.5 tackles for a loss of eight-yards.
 
In his junior season, Egglinger led the Golden Eagles in tackles, with 110 over the course of the season, including 40 solo tackles. Alex added 12 tackles for a loss of 37-yards, including three sacks for a loss of 22 yards. He also snagged an interception, which he returned 31-yards for a touchdown, a broken up pass and a forced fumble. Egglinger was named to the Empire 8 All-Conference Second-Team and earned a spot on the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team.
