SUNY Brockport Athletics

Dan Geiger

Dan Geiger joined The College at Brockport football coaching staff prior to the start of the 2012 season. Geiger brings an extensive coaching career along with him. A graduate of Cortland, Geiger will assist with the defensive backs.

In 2015, the defensive line played a pivotal role in the success of the unit, recording 32 sacks for 226 yards. Part of that success was due to contributions from senior Tarik Bennett, who represented Brockport on the All-America list after ranking 13th and 33rd in tackles for a loss, and sacks, respectively, on a national level.

Geiger's most previous experience came at the highest level as he served as a High School Player Development Director for the National Football League since 2008. Geiger has been familiar with the Rochester area for a number of years now after serving as the defensive coordinator and strength coach at Churchville-Chili High School from 1995-2006. Following the 2006 season, Geiger became the head coach of the Batavia varsity football program until 2011.

Along with his coaching experience, Geiger has served as a Physical Education teacher in the Batavia City School District since 2008.

A former football player at Alfred University, Geiger received bachelors degrees in Secondary Education and Mathematics from Cortland and went on to complete his masters in liberal arts from The College at Brockport.
