Hakeem Yaya joined the Brockport Football coaching staff in 2023 as a defensive line coach following a successful playing career with the Golden Eagles. Appearing in 28 games for Brockport across three seasons, Yaya finished his playing career with 63 total tackles (35 solo), 21 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, and two fumble recoveries.Â
In 2022, Yaya was named to the Empire 8 All-Conference Second team, leading the unit with 9 tackles for loss and four sacks while adding nine quarterback hurries.Â
Entering his third season as defensive line coach, Yaya has helped lead the Golden Eagles to back-to-back postseason appearances, including an ECAC Bowl victory over Rochester in 2024. The Staten Island, N.Y native graduated with a master’s degree in Athletic Administration in May of 2025. Â
