Jon Van Huben

Jon Van Huben ’98 returns to the SUNY Brockport men’s lacrosse program for his third tenure as an assistant coach in 2025.

Van Huben previously served on the Golden Eagles’ coaching staff from 2011–19, playing a key role in one of the most successful stretches in program history. During that period, Brockport recorded a program-record 12 wins and a seven-game winning streak in 2016, advanced to the SUNYAC Championship game, and qualified for the SUNYAC Tournament in five of ten seasons. The program also produced four Scholar All-Americans, nine All-Americans, 28 All-Conference selections, four North/South participants, and led Division III in face-off winning percentage during the 2017 season.

A Rochester, N.Y. native, Van Huben returns to the collegiate ranks following five seasons coaching at Brockport High School, where he served as both an assistant and head coach. In that role, he was involved in all aspects of the varsity program, including practice planning, game strategy, player development, and administrative responsibilities.

Earlier in his coaching career at Brockport High School, Van Huben earned Division III Assistant Coach of the Year honors in 2008. The following season, his team captured the first division championship in school history.

Van Huben resides in Spencerport, N.Y., with his wife, Amanda ’98, and their two children, Liam and Laney.
