Building Sustained Success
Stephen Wagner joined The College at Brockport Athletic Department in 2012 as the women's head lacrosse coach. The program has reached the SUNYAC Tournament in each of Wagner's seasons as head coach, including four SUNYAC Finals appearances and three NCAA Tournament berths. In 2019, he led his team to the programs first ever SUNYAC title. After another run to the SUNYAC Semifinals in 2022, the program has now made it to the semifinal round seven seasons in a row.

Before Brockport
Wagner came to Brockport following stints at multiple NCAA programs, with stops at Division I, II, and III programs. Wagner was a former defensive coordinator for the Brockport women's team in its inaugural season in 2001. Following one year at Brockport, Wagner accepted a position as the top assistant at St. Bonaventure University. In the program's third season of play, Wagner helped the Bonnies reach seven wins, a school a record for victories in a season at the time. After the 2002 season, Wagner became the head women's coach at NCAA Division II Gannon University. In his first six seasons at the helm, Wagner posted a record of 61-30 and never had a losing season. Wagner spent one year as an assistant coach at Division I University of Connecticut before returning to Gannon for two more seasons.

Under Wagner's Guidance
In his ten years at Brockport Wagner has coached 47 all-conference players, with 25 First-Team selections, three rookies of the year, two defensive players of the year, and two offensive players of the year. Wagner has been named SUNYAC Coach of the Year three times. Wagner has led the team to 10 or more wins in all but one season during his tenure at Brockport.
