Fred Parker is the athletic equipment room manager at The College at Brockport. Parker is responsible for all sports equipment used by Brockport’s 23 varsity sports teams. As equipment room manager, Parker is responsible for the inventory, storage and security of the vital pieces of equipment for both the varsity teams. He manages all laundry, including all athletic game uniforms and practice gear.
In addition to serving as equipment room manager, Parker assisted head coach Joan Schockow since 1996. The former Brockport High School coach is a 1989 graduate of The College at Brockport where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Physical Education.
In 2000, Parker received his master’s degree in Physical Education also from Brockport. Parker was the recipient of the 2002 Aflac National Assistant Coach of the Year Award.
Parker was a standout three-year player and captain for the Golden Eagles in the late ’80s. He also had professional tryouts with the Albany Capitals, New York Kick, and Buffalo Blizzards. Prior to attending Brockport, Parker spent a year at Wheeling Jesuit University before transferring back to Western New York.
Parker has also coached both boys and girls in the Olympic Development Program for seven years and works several summer camps each year, including one at Bethany College.
