History of Coaching
Coach Gonzalez has been coaching in the Rochester area for over 30 years, including stops at the College of Brockport, St. John Fisher, the Jewish Community Center of Rochester, Greece Central Schools, Penfield High School, and Brockport High School. Currently in his third stint at the College of Brockport, hired back in 2016, he was an assistant here back in 1987-88 before serving time as the program’s head coach from 1992-2010.
 
Awards & Titles at Brockport
As the leader of the program, the women’s tennis team has had six SUNYAC Championships in singles and three in doubles play. Gonzalez coached the SUNYAC MVP in 2016 and earned SUNYAC Coach of the Year himself in 2007. As head coach in the 1995 season, Coach Gonzalez led the women’s tennis program to an undefeated 12-0 season, which was the first ever undefeated season for a women’s team on campus in school history.
