Alyse grew up in nearby Hilton, NY where she graduated from Hilton High School. During her high school career she was a four-year member of the varsity volleyball team. Holding the position of middle blocker, she was named All Greater Rochester as a senior.
After high school she was recruited to play D1 volleyball at the University of Hartford, where she played for four years. Wenzel graduated from Hartford in 2018 with a bachelor's degree in psychology.
The fall of 2021 will mark her fourth year as a volunteer assistant coach with the Brockport women's vollebyall team. She has worked in the SUNY Brockport Office of Human Resources for the last three years and has also been an assistant coach for the Paradigm Volleyball Club for three seasons.
