Rebecca Borquist joined The College at Brockport volleyball staff in 2016 as an assistant coach. Rebecca is a 2016 graduate of SUNY New Paltz, where she was a four year member of the women’s volleyball team, earning Third-Team Academic All-American honors during her senior season.
Borquist has been coaching since 2012 when she began at APEX Junior Volleyball in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. In that role, she created and executed practice plans for teams of varying age groups, and also traveled with assigned teams to tournaments. She was able to take time this past summer to work with head coach Steve Pike, who was impressed with her coaching abilities.
“We are really excited to have Becca join our staff. We have already been able to work together at our Nike Volleyball Camp and she did an amazing job. To be able to add such a high quality young woman and decorated student athlete is going to add value to our program in a number of ways. Becca was able to accomplish so much in her collegiate career both in the classroom and on the court.”
The volleyball team kicks off their season on Aug. 25 when they host Le Moyne College for a scrimmage in the Jim and John Vlogianitis Gymnasium.
