Dustin Colgan (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) has been named The College at Brockport Male Athlete of the Week after qualifying for the NCAA Championships in the shot put event.
Competing at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Championships this past weekend, Colgan posted a career-best distance of 16.44 meters (53’ 11.25”) in the shot put, the 18th best score in all of Division III. The top 20 marks qualify for the NCAA Championships. Colgan’s distance came on his last attempt of the day at the meet.
The NCAA Championships take place at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps College in Claremont, CA at the Fritz B. Burns Stadium from May 24-26. The men’s shot put event is scheduled to start on May 26, at 4:05 pm, PST (7:05 pm, EST).
