Junior track and field athelte Samuel Taft (Schenectady, NY/Schenectady Christian) has been chosen as The College at Brockport Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending on February 2.
Taft had a record setting day on Saturday at the Golden Eagle Invitational. In the Heptathlon, Taft set a school record with a final score of 4,592. Taft was first in the 1000-meters and the 60-meter hurdles, as well as second in the shot put.
Tafts score in the heptathlon currently ranks ninth in the national standings.
The Golden Eagles return to action this weekend. On Friday, Brockport sends athletes to Boston University for the Valentines Invitational and on Saturday, another home meet.
