Freshman defender Gina Stephan (Clarence, NY/Clarence) made one defensive save during a loss to Ithaca College, and followed that up with another defensive save during a 2-0 home-opening win over Nazareth College to earn Female Athlete of the Week honors.

Stephan’s hard work and ability to effectively communicate with her teammates on the field earned her captain’s honors from head coach Andrea Zurlo, becoming the first freshman in school history to be named captain. Stephan has started all five Brockport (2-3) contests and has recorded all three of the Golden Eagles’ defensive saves in 2010.
