Senior pole vaulter Marcy Merritt (Sherwood, WI/Kaukauna) has been chosen at The College at Brockport Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending on April 27.

Merritt broke a Brockport school record in the pole vault over the weekend at a meet hosted by the Golden Eagles. She was one of 13 first place finishes at the Brockport Golden Eagle Run meet. Merritt’s mark of 3.57 meters was the top of the day and broke the old record of 3.55 meters set in 2012 by Becky Fabbiano. Merritt’s mark was also an Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) qualifier. She heads into the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Championships ranked 24th in the nation.
