When an injury to one of Brockport’s starting forwards moved Kaila Maguire (Potsdam, NY/Potsdam) from midfield to forward, the sophomore forward responded and earned female athlete of the week honors.

Maguire scored three goals and added two assists as the Golden Eagles romped to an 8-1 win over SUNY Old Westbury in the first round of the St. John Fisher Invitational Tournament. She assisted on Brockport’s first two goals before scoring a hat trick in just 17 minutes.

Facing host Fisher in the championship, Maguire scored the eventual game-winning goals, her fourth goal in two days, as Brockport won 2-0 over Fisher.
