Senior Dorian Hayden (East Northport, NY/Northport) has been named The College at Brockport Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending March 2. Hayden put his blazing speed on display over the weekend during the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Championships held in the Special Events Recreation Center (SERC) on the campus of Brockport.

Hayden dominated the preliminary events on Friday winning both the 400-meter and 200-meter dashes. On Saturday he hit the track running and finished with even better times in both events. He took home the SUNYAC Championship in the 400-meter dash with a time of 49.64 seconds, and came up just short in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.25. Hayden placed second in the 200-meter dash which was 0.03 seconds off the Champions time.

Hayden also anchored the 4x400-meter relay in quite exciting fashion, using his blazing speed to help push the Golden Eagles further ahead of the competitors and qualifying for the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championships in the process. The team of Hayden, Samuel Taft (Schenectady, NY/Schenectady Christian), Ben Mertus (Corning, NY/Corning-East) and Amir Rogers (Rochester, NY/Northeast College Prep) won the SUNYAC Championship with a time of 3:22.43.

Hayden qualified for the ECAC Championships in all three events, which are scheduled for this weekend March 6 and 7 in New York City at the NYC Armory.
