Senior goalkeeper Casey Sullivan has been named The College at Brockport Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sept. 14, after leading the Golden Eagles soccer team to win the Ohio Northern tournament.

Sullivan won both games over the weekend in style, finishing both contests with a clean sheet to tie and surpass the previous school career shutout record, set by Brockport’s Rhett King in 1976, with his 21st shutout in a 3-0 win over Defiance Sunday afternoon.

Ohio Northern put Sullivan to the test on Saturday and made him earn a hard fought 2-0 shutout victory. The Polar Bears outshot Brockport 14-12 with Sullivan proving up to the task and saving all five shots that were on net.

The Golden Eagles team rallied around Sullivan on Sunday and gave him a lightly contested shutout victory. Brockport defeated Defiance 3-0 as they decimated the Yellow Jackets defense, mustering 35 shots compared to one. Sullivan posted one save during his record setting 21st shutout, thanks in large part to a dominating all-around Golden Eagle performance.
