Gary Messina has been named The College at Brockport Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending Oct. 5 after posting a personal best Saturday morning at the Mike Woods Invitational hosted by SUNY Geneseo at Letchworth State Park.

Messina finished the race in 25:25.8 and placed 13th out of over 500 runners.  The 13th place finish is a personal best for the Queensbury, N.Y. native.  The Golden Eagles finished in 25th place with 576 points.  Messina has been the top Brockport finisher in all three meets this year.

The Golden Eagles next race will be Oct. 17 as they head to Oberlin, Ohio for the Oberlin Rumble.  Their next race after that will be the SUNYAC Championships at Plattsburgh on Oct. 31.
