Justin Mercer had an impactful start to the season for The Golden Eagles, leading them to a 2-0 record. In the game against the Rochester Institute of Technology, Mercer found the back of the net in the 68th minute to give Brockport the lead 2-1, which they would hold onto. The second goal of the weekend game against Nazareth College, where the goal by Mercer came in the 84th minute and lead the Green and Gold too its second straight 2-1 victory. The Brockport, N.Y. native finished the weekend with four points and a shots on goal percentage of 100 percent.
 
The Golden Eagles will play their home opener on Sept. 5 when host Medaille College at 7 p.m. at Bob Boozer Field.
