Win Streak Extended as Regular Season Ends

Mackenzie Rounds and Jen Lazarony each win twice for Brockport

Jen Lazarony won twice against Elmira for the Golden Eagles
Sophomore Mackenzie Rounds (Binghamton, NY/Susquehanna Valley) and senior Jen Lazarony (Corfu, NY/Pembroke) won their No. 1 doubles match and also posted victories at No.1 and No. 2 singles to lead The College at Brockport Women's Tennis team to a 6-3 victory over Elmira College Wednesday afternoon in Elmira.
 
Lazarony and Rounds won an 8-4 match in doubles and the Rounds posted a 6-4, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles and Lazarony took a hard fought 7-6 (4), 5-7, 6-3 win at No. 2 singles for the Golden Eagles.
 
“Jen (Lazarony) had a hard three-set match,” said head coach Ben Klempka. “Everyone played well but I was impressed with the way Mackenzie (Rounds) played in both singles and doubles for us.”
 
Sophomore Ellen Meyers (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville South) and freshman Abbi Rice (Brockport, NY/Brockport) won 8-2 at No. 3 doubles and freshman Lauren Bohman (Sayville, NY/Sayville) won the deciding match with a 6-3, 6-4 victory at No. 5 singles.
 
The match against Elmira was the final regular season match for the Golden Eagles who will play in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Championships over the weekend at the East Side Racquet Club in Syracuse.
