Mackenzie Rounds (Binghamton, NY/Susquehanna Valley) and Lauren Bohman (Sayville, NY/Sayville) each won a singles and doubles match to help The College at Brockport Tennis team defeat the Oswego Lakers 6-3 in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Tournament. Brockport will play in the 5th place match tomorrow morning against the Cortland Red Dragons.

The Golden Eagles dropped the first doubles set of the match but came right back to take the final two matches. Rounds and Amy Kurmis (East Rochester, NY/East Rochester) teamed up to win second doubles 8-4. Bohman and Nicole DeRose (Rochester, NY/Greece Athena) were partners for the 8-6 victory in third doubles.

Rounds came right back to open up first singles with a 6-2, 7-5 victory over Nicole Leader. Leader was part of the Lakers' doubles team that won in first doubles earlier in the match. Rachel Lamont (Bloomfield, NY/Honeoye) put Brockport up 4-1, cruising to a 6-1, 6-2 victory in second singles. Katelyn Richenberg (Stafford, NY/Batavia) carried Brockport to its fifth straight victory with a 6-1, 6-2 victory of her own in third singles. Bohman won the final point for Brockport, a 6-3, 6-3 victory in fifth singles.

Prior to beating the Lakers, Brockport fell to Oneonta on Friday afternoon in the first round of the SUNYAC Tournament. Brockport's next opponent, Cortland, fell to Geneseo 5-0 in the first round but came back to defeat Fredonia 7-2 on Saturday.

Brockport has now won six consecutive matches against Oswego. The Golden Eagles have defeated the Lakers three straight years in the SUNYAC Tournament.

The final match of the tournament for Brockport is set to begin tomorrow at 10:00 am.
