Senior Kyheem Green (Huntington Station, NY/Walt Whitman) finished with his sixth double-double of the season, and second consecutive, in a 79-60 win over Fredonia State Friday night. The Golden Eagles State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) improves to 8-6, breaking a tie with the Blue Devils who fall to 7-7 in conference play.

John Ivy (Rochester, NY/East) dropped in eight points in the first half and finished the game with 12 points. Also joining the two with double digits was Gerald Williams (Rocheter, NY/Charlotte) with 16 and Lance Legister (Staten Island, NY/Millbrook School) with 12. Derek Klein (Valley Stream, NY/Long Island Lutheran) contributed five assists in the first half.

Brockport opened up the game on a 12-3 run just 2:35 into the contest. Fredonia State responded with their own 12-0 run to pull ahead 15-12. After a free throw by Kazeem Are (South Orange, NJ/Columbia) at the 10:07 mark, the two teams were tied at 15. For the remainder of the half, both teams were a part of seven lead changes and four ties. Brockport managed to grab the lead just before halftime on an Ivy jumper just before the buzzer.

The Golden Eagles used the three-point shot early in the second half to get the momentum going. With the score tied at 39, Klein sank a trey on an assist from Ivy. Following back to back layups by Williams and Klein, Brockport led 46-41. Williams catapulted the Golden Eagles ahead with two consecutive three-pointers with under 15 to play.

Brockport kept the Blue Devils scoreless for the next five minutes as the Golden Eagles went on an 11-0 run. Legister sank three free-throws at the 7:42 mark to give Brockport their largest lead, 70-45. Brockport maintained their comfortable advantage for the remainder of the game, never leading by less than 12. The Golden Eagles finished the game shooting 47.3 percent from the floor. Brockport also forced 17 Fredonia turnovers.

Brockport returns to action on Saturday against Buffalo State for a 4:00 pm contest. The Golden Eagles defeated Buffalo State 94-70 earlier this year. Prior to Friday, the Bengals sat in second place with a 10-3 overall record.
