BROCKPORT, NY - Senior guard/forward Jacob Oka added another prestigious accolade to his decorated final season on Tuesday, March 10th, as he was named to the USBWA Rochester Area Men's First Team, selected by the Rochester Chapter of the United States Basketball Writers Association.

The selection marks a fitting conclusion for the Baldwin, NY native, who has been the undisputed heartbeat of the SUNY Brockport roster throughout the 2025-26 campaign. This honor follows a string of postseason recognitions for Oka, who was recently named to the Empire 8 All-Tournament Team and earned an Empire 8 Second-Team All-Conference selection.

Oka's veteran leadership and versatility were on full display this season, as he led the Golden Eagles in three major statistical categories. Over 28 games, he averaged 13.1 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 2.0 steals per contest. His efficiency and defensive disruption were hallmarks of his game, as he shot a clinical 45.7% from the floor while consistently anchoring the Brockport defense.

The 6-foot-4 senior saved some of his best basketball for the bright lights of the postseason, serving as the engine behind Brockport's run to the Empire 8 Championship game. During a three-game playoff stretch, Oka played 97 minutes and elevated his production across the board, averaging 15.0 points, 8.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 2.3 steals per game.

His ability to impact every column of the stat sheet proved vital as the Golden Eagles battled through the tournament bracket to earn a runner-up finish. By earning a spot on the USBWA Rochester Area First Team, Oka cements his place in the Green and Gold, providing a veteran blueprint for the program's future.
