Matt Andon-McLane (Syracuse, NY/Nottingham) scored a season-high three goals as The College at Brockport Men's Lacrosse team defeated Elmira College on Saturday afternoon by the score of 14-11. Andon-McLane was one of five Golden Eagles to score at least two goals on the day.

Brockport trailed 8-7 at halftime but used a key third quarter to take control of the game. The Golden Eagles outscored Elmira 5-1 in the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, Brockport led 12-11 but Andon-McLane scored a man-up goal and Jesse Elliot (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) added an insurance goal as Brockport improves to 3-5 on the year.

Sophomore Brendon Rothfuss (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) scored three goals and had three assists to lead the way for Brockport. Rothfuss scored the game's first goal just 25 seconds into the game on an assist from Nate Thomas (Cortland, NY/Cortland). Rothfuss assisted on the next two goals by Elliot and Andon-McLane to put Brockport up 3-0 early on. Bryon Palmer (Johnson City, NY/Johnson City) notched his second goal of the seaon at the 6:53 mark of the first quarter.

The Golden Eagles entered the second quarter with a 4-3 lead until Rothfuss assisted on a Riley Austin (Rochester, NY/Eastridge) goal and then found the back of the net for his second score of the game for a three-goal lead. Elmira responded with five consecutive goals to take an 8-6 lead, but Brad Weber (Rochester, NY/Gates-Chili) managed to score on an assist from Elliot with just three seconds remaining in the half to cut into the deficit.

Palmer started the scoring in the third quarter at the 11:32 mark, but Elmira responded with a goal 1:11 later. Rothfuss, Andon-McLane, Tim Cook (Fairport, NY/Fairport) and Austin combined to score four straight goals, including two man-up goals, to regain the lead. As a team, the Golden Eagles went 5-8 on man-up opportunities in the game.

Elmira made the game interesting in the fourth quarter with two goals in a one minute span to make the score 12-11 in favor of Brockport, but Andon-McLane and Elliott's goals proved to be the dagger.

Elliott finished the game with two goals and a season-high four assists. Austin finished with the two goals and also added an assist on the day.
