Box Score

The College at Brockport Men's Lacrosse team dropped a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) contest to the Geneseo Knights on Wednesday, falling 16-5. Matt Andon-McLane (Syracuse, NY/Nottingham) netted two goals and added an assist in the loss.

Andon-McLane assisted to Bryon Palmer (Johnson City, NY/Johnson City) for the games' first goal six minutes into the contest. Alex Austin (Rochester, NY/Trinity-Pawling) scored two minutes later on an assist from brother Riley Austin (Rochester, NY/Eastridge) to put Brockport up 2-0. The Knights responded with two goals in the last three minutes of the first quarter, and opened up the second quarter with a goal 18 seconds in. Brendon Rothfuss (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) tied the game up at three with a goal at the 10:14 mark on an assist from Alex Austin. Geneseo rattled off the next four goals to end the first half leading 7-3.

David Henrie (Massena, NY/Massena) picked up a ground ball on the opening faceoff of the second half and drove down field to score Brockport's fourth goal just 17 seconds into the half. Trailing 9-4, Andon-McLane found the back of the net for his first goal of the game with 7:59 remaining in the third period. The senior brought Brockport to within four with 29 seconds remaining in the third with his second goal of the game, but Geneseo scored with five seconds left in the quarter to go up 11-6. The Golden Eagles failed to score in the fourth quarter as Geneseo added four more scores.

The Golden Eagles have one more SUNYAC contest remaining, a road game at Oneonta on April 28. With a victory over the 2-3 Red Dragons, the Golden Eagles will almost assure themselves of clinching a berth in the SUNYAC Tournament.
