Sophomore Rachel Lamont (Bloomfield, NY/Honeoye) won two games in her singles match at No. 2 singles for The College at Brockport Tennis team but it was the only matchup that the Golden Eagles were able to score at least two game victories as Geneseo dealt Brockport a 9-0 loss Tuesday afternoon at Geneseo.
The Knights (3-0 ) swept the doubles matches losing just two games in the process winning at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles by 8-1 margins and won an 8-0 decision at No. 3 doubles for the early 3-0 lead in the overall team score.
In singles, Lamont dropped the first set 6-2 and fell 6-0 in the second set while freshman Amy Kurmis (East Rochester, NY/East Rochester) won a pair of games in a 6-1, 6-1 loss at No. 3 singles for the Golden Eagles (2-2). Mackenzie Rounds (Binghamton, NY/Susquehanna Valley) and Iyanna Sinclair (Brooklyn, NY/Enterprise/Business Technology) each scored a game victory in their singles matches.
Brockport returns to action over the weekend with a road trip to Oneonta and New Paltz. Brockport will play Oneonta Friday and continue on to New Paltz for a Saturday matchup with the Hawks.
