Amy Kurmis (East Rochester, NY/East Rochester) lost a tight match at No. 4 single and
Mackenzie Rounds (Binghamton, NY/Susquehanna Valley) lost a close match at No. 1 singles as The College at Brockport Tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision at New Paltz Saturday afternoon in a non-conference matchup.
Kurmis won her first set with a 6-3 decision and after losing a 6-0 set to knot the score, fell 7-6 in the third set at No. 4 singles for Brockport (2-4). New Paltz (6-0) opened the match with victories in each of the three doubles matches but Brockport battled back for close decisions in the singles matches.
Rounds dropped a 6-2 decsion in the first set but came back before losing by a slim 7-6 score in the second set.
Brockport returns to action next weekend with the ITA Invitational Tournament at William Smith College in Geneva.
