Nicole DeRose (Rochester, NY/Greece Athena) and
Lauren Bohman (Sayville, NY/Sayville) teamed to post an 8-4 victory at No. 3 doubles and while Bohman,
Katelyn Richenberg (Stafford, NY/Batavia) and
Amy Kurmis (East Rochester, NY/East Rochester) each won singles matches for The College at Brockport Tennis team but Cortland won a tight No. 6 singles match to post a 5-4 victory Saturday at Cortland.
DeRose and Bohman recorded the lone Brockport (4-5) victory in the doubles competition. Richenberg posted a 6-2, 7-5 win at No. 3 singles while Bohman posted a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 5 singles.
Amy Kurmis (East Rochester, NY/East Rochester) scored a 6-2, 7-5 win at No. 4 singles to round out the scoring for the Golden Eagles.
Cortland (3-5) came from behind at No. 2 doubles. Trailing 7-4 in the match, the Red Dragons rebounded and scored a 9-7 victory in the match. Cortland also won a closely contested match at No. 6 singles as
Sarah Stromski (Peconic, NY/Southold) dropped a tight 6-3, 7-5 decision for Brockport.
Brockport will compete in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Tournament next weekend to complete the season. The tournament will be held in Binghamton.
