Junior Julie Arnold (Fredonia, NY/Fredonia) had two hits in the opener and another hit in game two helping The College at Brockport Softball team to a sweep of a doubleheader over Plattsburgh, ranked #25 in the latest NFCA Division III National Poll, as the Golden Eagles won a 6-5 decision in eight innings in the opener and completed the sweep with a 3-1 win in the night cap.

The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) games were played in Geneseo as Brockport, Potsdam, Plattsburgh and Geneseo played each of their weekend series in Geneseo.

In the opener, Brockport (8-7 Overall, 4-0 SUNYAC) score a pair of runs in the first inning on a two-run homer by Jenna Yates (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca East) and built a 4-0 lead with single runs in the fourth and fifth innings. Plattsburgh (9-7, 2-2) rallied to take a lead with five runs in the top of the sixth inning but Susanna Johnson (Edmeston, NY/Edmeston) doubled in the bottom of the seventh inning scoring Yates who walked to start the inning tying the score and forcing extra innings.

In the bottom of the eighth inning, Arnold singled to right field and started toward second base after the Plattsburgh right fielder misplayed the ball and was awarded second as a result of an interference call after a collision with the first baseman. Senior Caitlyn Rana (Ballston Lake, NY/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) doubled down the left field line to score Arnold with the winning run.

In game two, Brockport took another early lead with a run in the bottom of the first inning as Brianna Ferchen (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta) reached base with an infield single, moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Yates and stole third before sliding in safely at home as Emily Dumas (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) reached on a fielder's choice. The run gave Brockport the early 1-0 lead.

Plattsburgh tied the score with a run in the fourth inning as the Cardinals rallied for three hits but were limited to just the one run as one runner was thrown out at the plate. In the bottom of the inning, Brockport regained the lead as Melissa Martin (Deposit, NY/Deposit) singled and scored later when Rana singled up the middle.

The Golden Eagles added an insurance run in the fifth inning as Dumas and Johnson each singled and freshman Brianna Harris (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) singled up the middle scoring pinch runner Paige Monachino (East Rochester, NY/Aquinas Institute) for the 3-1 Brockport lead.

Starter Korey Kibling (Lafayette, NY/Bishop Ludden) and fellow freshman Jaime Berger (Norwich, NY/Norwich) combined for the pitching win as Kibling picked up the win and Berger the save for Brockport. Berger was the starter in the opener and Erin Flemming (Friendship, NY/Bolivar-Richburg) picked up the win in relief.
