A slow start from The College at Brockport women's lacrosse team proved to be a minor blip as the Golden Eagles cruised to a 16-11 victory for the team's first State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) victory over Oneonta on Saturday afternoon. Emily Zartman (Canandaigua, NY/Canandaigua) scored a season-high four goals on the day.

Playing at Brockport Field, the Golden Eagles fell behind 3-0 in the first four minutes against the Red Dragons. Brockport went on to score nine of the next 10 goals of the first half as Brockport took a 9-5 lead into the locker room. The Golden Eagles' offense continued its solid play in the second half, scoring seven of the first eight goals to start the half. Oneonta scored the final five, but Brockport's early lead proved to be too much for the Red Dragons.

Zartman scored two goals in each half, including the team's final goal of the day. Ciara McKeon (Westhampton, NY/Westhampton Beach) also recorded a four-goal game, her second four-goal performance of her young Brockport career.

After Oneonta took the initial 3-0 lead, Liz Algie (Adams, NY/South Jefferson) put Brockport on the board at the 25:03 mark. Alyssa Scordo (Watertown, NY/South Jefferson) and McKeon scored back-to-back goals to tie the game. Following an Oneonta goal, Zartman found the back of the net to tie the game at four. Nina Tassone (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) scored two minutes later to give Brockport the final lead change of the game. Zartman, Algie and Katie Sullivan (Baldwinsville, NY/C.W. Baker) all scored two goals in the first half.

McKeon and Zartman opened up the second half with goals just 39 seconds apart. Oneonta scored shortly after to bring the score to 11-6, but McKeon netted two straight scores to put the game out of reach. Scordo picked up her second score at the 21:29 mark to put Brockport up 14-6. Erin Featherstone (Tully, NY/Tully) scored her first goal with 18:31 to play while Zartman scored just 16 seconds later for Brockport's final goal.

Remle Harr (Farmington, NY/Fairport) stopped a career-high 10 shots in the win. The freshman was won all six games for the Golden Eagles this year.

Brockport held a 23-6 draw control advantage on the day, a season-high for the Golden Eagles.

Brockport will travel to Buffalo State on April 2 for a SUNYAC matchup at 4:00 pm.
