Jesse Elliott (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) scored two second-half goals as The College at Brockport Men's Lacrosse team fell by a 17-2 score to Cortland, ranked No. 1 in the country according to the latest USILA national poll, Saturday afternoon in a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) game in Cortland.
Cortland (11-0 Overall, 3-0 SUNYAC) scored the first 10 goals of the game and led 10-0 at the halftime intermission.
The Golden Eagles (4-7, 1-2) started the second half in a man-up situation and Elliott took advantage scoring on a pass from
Austin Webb (Syracuse, NY/Westhill).
Cortland added two more goals in the low-scoring third quarter and held a 12-1 lead heading into the final quarter. The Red Dragons scored three more times in the fourth quarter for a 15-1 advantage before Elliott scored again for the Golden Eagles.
Riley Austin (Rochester, NY/Eastridge) picked up the assist on the play.
For the season, Elliott leads the team in goals, assists and points and has scored twice as many goals as another player. He has 30 goals and 12 assists for 42 points on the year.
