Junior Sarah Rosenbarker (Endicott, NY/Maine-Endwell) and classmate Julie Arnold (Fredonia, NY/Fredonia) had four hits each and combined for five runs and three runs batted in leading The College at Brockport Softball team to a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) doubleheader split with Oneonta Sunday afternoon in Oneonta. The games were originally scheduled for Friday but moved to Sunday due to weather.

Brockport (14-9 Overall, 8-2 SUNYAC) won the opener 10-4 and had a lead in game two before Oneonta (8-18, 4-8) came back with two late runs to win 5-4 in the night cap.

The Golden Eagles took an early lead 6-0 in game one with three runs in the first and three more in the top of the third inning. Oneonta answered with two in the bottom of the third to trim the lead and added two more in the bottom of the fourth to make it a 6-4 ball game. Brockport added an insurance run in the fifth and then put the game out of reach with three more runs in the seventh for the final score.

In the first inning, Jenna Yates (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca East) and Emily Dumas (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) drew one-out walks before Rosenbarker delivered a single to right field scoring the first run of the game and then Emily Kolenda (Oswego, NY/Oswego) followed with another single scoring another run and advancing Rosenbarker to third. Rosenbarcker scored on a sacrifice bunt by Erica Lazzaro (Oswego, NY/Oswego) to cap the first inning scoring.

In the third inning, Rosenbarker led off with a home run to centerfield. With one out, Lazzaro singled and Arnold followed with a double to right centerfield. Lazzaro and Arnold scored later in the inning on a throwing error after a line drive out giving Brockport the 6-0 advantage.

In the fifth, Arnold led off the inning with a single and later scored on a Brianna Ferchen (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta) double.

In the final inning, Arnold stated the rally with a one out single. Ferchen singled to drive in one run and Yates singled home two more runs as Brockport took the commanding 10-4 lead.

In game two, Brockport opened up an early lead again scoring in the top of the second inning. Arnold drew a two-out walk and stole second base. After Ciara Condello (Rochester, NY/East Rochester) walked, Caitlyn Rana (Ballston Lake, NY/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) singled to left field and Arnold came home on a throwing error for the first run of the game.

The Red Dragons scored twice in the bottom of the inning with two outs retired to take a 2-1 lead but Brockport tied the score in the top of the third with another run as pinch runner Paige Monachino (East Rochester, NY/Aquinas Institute) came home on a fielder's choice play as Oneonta opted to take the out at second base and sacrifice the run.

In the fifth, Brockport took a 4-2 lead. Rosenbarker hit a one-out double and pinch runner Gabrielle Rivers (Syracuse, NY/West Genesee) scored two batters later when Lazzaro singled up the middle. Lazzaro came around to score when Arnold singled.

Oneonta trimmed the lead to 4-3 in the bottom half of the inning and then scored the tying and go-ahead runs in the sixth inning to complete the comeback.
