Box Score

Senior Sarah Brown (Syracuse, NY/West Genesee) tied the school record for most career assists on Tuesday afternoon, but The College at Brockport women's lacrosse team fell at Geneseo 17-8 in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) play. The Golden Eagles fall to 4-2 in the conference and 10-4 overall.

Taking on the Blue Knights Brown recorded two assists, both coming within 4:29 of each other midway through the first half. Brown assisted on a Katie Sullivan (Baldwinsville, NY/C.W. Baker) goal to tie the record, previously held by Angela Inzinna, and put Brockport ahead 4-3. Geneseo took off from there, going on a 9-0 run, including the final seven goals of the first half to pull away.

Brown and Inzinna are currently tied for first with 137 career assists. The senior is just two assists away from tying the single season assists record of 49, also held by Inzinna.

Four different players netted two goals for the Golden Eagles, including Sullivan. Emily Zartman (Canandaigua, NY/Canandaigua), Makensie Schuber (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas), and Hailey Boronczyk (Syracuse, NY/Corcoran) all contributed to the scoring. After scoring just two goals in the team's first 11 games, Boronczyk has scored seven in her last three contests.

Zartman, Brockport's leading goal scorer opened up the game with a goal just over a minute into the opening half. After three straight Geneseo goals, Brown teamed up with Zartman for her first assist of the day to bring Brockport back within one.

Schuber scored just over a minute later at the 20:10 mark to even the game at three. Brown and Sullivan teamed up with 17:01 remaining to give Brockport the lead. Geneseo's run started one minute later, tying the game at four. Neither side was able to score until the Blue Knights found the back of the net at the 7:41 mark. Geneseo scored five more times in the closing minutes of the first half and built a 12-4 lead to open the second half.

Boronczyk scored the next two Brockport goals but Geneseo split the freshman's scoring with two of its own. Sullivan and Schuber both scored in the final minutes, but Geneseo's lead proved to be too much for the Golden Eagles.

Both sides played a fairly even game statistically. Geneseo outshot Brockport by just four, 32-28 and held a 25-19 advantage in shots on goal. The Golden Eagles received a game-high eight free position shots and won 15 draw controls on the day.

Remle Harr (Farmington, NY/Fairport) stopped eight shots in net for the Golden Eagles.

Brockport will host Oswego in SUNYAC play at 1:00 pm on April 20.
