Senior John Ivy (Rochester, NY/East) scored 18 points as The College at Brockport men's basketball team defeated Fredonia 93-61 and scored over 90 points for the second time this weekend during a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) matchup on Saturday afternoon.

Brockport (19-2, 13-1 SUNYAC) had 13 steals and caused Fredonia (6-17, 3-13 SUNYAC) to make 17 turnovers throughout the game.

Ivy and Olusola Adeniran (Elmont, NY/Sewanhaka) started the Golden Eagles on a 4-0 run to open up the game. The Blue Devils stayed in the game during the opening minutes, trading the lead back-and-forth with Brockport.

Midway through the first half, Brockport went on a key 13-2 to open up their lead to 13 and gain control of the game.  Freshman Aaron White (North Tonawanda, NY/Canisius) started the run around the 12 minute mark with a three pointer and contributed seven points during that time.

Another three, this time from Ivy and a layup from Patrick Coyle (North Chili, NY/Bishop Kearney) put Brockport up by 18 with 7:39 left in the half.

The Blue Devils put together a 7-0 run to cut the Golden Eagle lead to just 11 at 5:21, but Brockport was able to push its lead back out, going up by 20 in the final second of the first half after a layup from Coyle.

Brockport started the second half out with another big run, this time recording an 11-2 scoring advantage in the first two minutes of play. Matt Lee (Ballston Lake, NY/Shenendehowa) drained three from long range during the run that put the Golden Eagles up by 27.

Fredonia had no answers for the Golden Eagles in the second half. The closest the Blue Devils would get was 29 points at the 14-minute mark.

As time ran down, Brockport continued to push the ball and Fredonia continued to struggle to make a shot. A layup from freshman Mitch Cote (Rochester, NY/Penfield) gave the Golden Eagles their largest lead of the game, 41, with 4:46 left to play.

The Blue Devils chipped a few points off the Brockport lead in the final minutes, but Fredonia had fallen too far behind.

As a team, the Golden Eagles finished the night shooting 50% (30-60) from the floor, 45.5% (10-22) from long range and 74.2% (23-31) from the free throw line.

Ivy led scoring with 18 points and added three assists. White tallied 13 points, while Lee and Clifton Lyerly (Inwood, NY/Lawrence) each chipped in nine points. Brandon Caruthers recorded a team-high three steals and Coyle pulled down a team-high seven rebounds and had two blocks.

Brockport returns to action on Tuesday night for an 8pm SUNYAC matchup at Oswego.
