Box Score Senior Emily Zartman (Canandaigua, NY/Canandaigua) scored four times to lead The College at Brockport Women's Lacrosse team to an 11-9 victory over Stevenson University Saturday afternoon in a non-conference matchup in Owings Mills, MD.

Brockport (1-1) built an early 3-1 lead as freshman Kelly Wall (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa), Zartman and Hailey Boronczyk (Syracuse, NY/Corcoran) each scored for the Golden Eagles in the first 7:38 of the contest.

Stevenson (0-3) answered with three straight goals to take a 4-3 lead before Zartman scored her second of the game to tie it up at 4-4.

The Mustangs took a two-goal lead at 6-4 over the next 12 minutes and with less than four minutes to play in the half.

Wall scored at the 26:42 mark and Nina Tassone (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) scored with 1:34 to play knotting the score at 6-6 as the teams headed to the halftime intermission.

The teams traded goals in the first five minutes of the second half before Brockport scored three straight in a span of less than three minutes from the 14:16 mark to the 17:38 mark in the half.Katie Curran (Hopewell Junction, NY/Arlington), Makensie Schuber (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) and Tassone each scored for Brockport to give the Golden Eagles a 10-8 lead.

Stevenson cut the lead to a single goal at 10-9 with just more than 12 minutes left but did not score again the rest of the game as the Brockport defense tightened up and the offensive unit controlled the ball.

Zartman added her fourth goal of the contest with 6:39 left to play and Brockport held on for its first victory of the season.

Remle Harr (Farmington, NY/Fairport) made 10 saves for the Golden Eagles.
