Emily Zartman (Canandaigua, NY/Canandaigua), Makensie Schuber (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas), Liz Algie (Adams, NY/South Jefferson) and Kelly Wall (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) each tallied five points as The College at Brockport women's lacrosse team rolled past Roanoke 19-7 on Tuesday night in Virginia for a non-conference matchup.
Roanoke (3-4) was the first to get on the scoreboard, with a quick goal 1:30 into the game.
Wall quickly tied things up with Brockport's (4-1) first goal of the game less than 30 seconds later.
A goal from Hailey Boronczyk (Syracuse, NY/Corcoran) gave Brockport a one goal lead at 26:31. However, on Roanoke's next trip down the field, the Maroons brought the game back to a tie at 2-2.
Brockport answered back with a five goal run that started at 25:04 off of a goal from Nina Tassone (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool). Tassone, Schuber, Zartman and Wall all tallied goals on the run.
Roanoke scored their third goal of the game at 14:32, but Brockport closed out the first half on a 4-1 run to head into halftime up 11-4.
In the second half, Megan LeGro (Kirkville, NY/East Syracuse-Minoa) added to Brockport's lead in the first minute with a free position goal.
Brockport continued to dominate on both ends of the field, continuing to score and holding the Maroons to only three goals in the second half.
Remle Harr (Farmington, NY/Fairport) earned the win in net, playing all 60:00 and making seven saves.
Zartman and Schuber led scoring with four goals, while Wall added three. Algie and Bronoczyk added two goals each with Colleen Hathaway (Watertown, NY/South Jefferson) and LeGro tallying one each.
Brockport returns to action on Saturday for a game at home against Adrian College at 2:00 pm.
