Emily Zartman (Canandaigua, NY/Canandaigua) scored seven goals, including the first three goals of the game to help The College at Brockport women's lacrosse team earn a dominating 20-7 victory in a non-conference matchup against Adrian College at home on Saturday afternoon.

Brockport (5-1) wasted little time getting on the scoreboard. Zartman gained control of the ball, raced down the field and dodged by the Adrian defenders to tally her first goal just 43 seconds into play. Less than a minute later, Zartman had a fast break down the field, once again easily dodging the Bulldog defenders to put the Golden Eagles up 2-0.

The Golden Eagles continued their high pressure game on both ends of the field, making it tough for Adrian to get any momentum. At 18:37, Zartman tallied her third goal of the game off of a pass from Nina Tassone (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool).

Adrian scored its first goal of the game at 17:54, cutting Brockport's lead back to two.  However, Zartman once again found her way right through the Bulldog defense, scoring a goal just 27 seconds after Adiran's. Zartmans goal started the Golden Eagles on a 6-0 run that gave Brockport a commanding 10-1 lead with 6:48 left to play in the half.

During that 6-0 run, Zartman and Kelly Wall (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) each tallied two goals, while Tasson and Liz Algie (Adams, NY/South Jefferson) each scored one.

The Bulldogs took advantage of a free position shot at 4:31 to score just their second goal of the game. 16 seconds later, Adrian struck with another goal to cut the Golden Eagles lead to seven, 10-3.

Brockport closed out the first half with two goals to push its lead back out to nine. Alyssa Scordo (Watertown, NY/South Jefferson) ripped a shot past the Adrian goalkeeper at 2:08 and Algie notched her second goal of the game just 33 seconds before halftime.

In the second half, Brockport continued to push its lead, scoring two goals to take a 14-3 lead. Hailey Boronczyk (Syracuse, NY/Cocoran) rocketed a shot into the back of the net at 26:48 off of a pass from Makensie Schuber (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) and then Schuber turned around and scored off of a pass from Scordo at 24:38.

Adrian scored their fourth goal of the game at 23:19, but Brockport answered back with a 4-0 run to extend its lead to 14.

With 12 minutes to play in the game, Adrian scored a goal to make it 18-5. The Bulldogs scored another goal at 9:32, but the Golden Eagles still had control of the game with an 18-6 lead.

Schuber took advantage of an Adrian yellow card and scored a man-up goal with 6:38 left in the second half.

The Bulldogs seventh and final goal of the game came at 3:41.

Katie Curran (Hopewell Junction, NY/Arlington) capped off the game scoring the Golden Eagles 20th goal with just 33 seconds left to play.

Brockport outshot Adrian 38-6 and forced the Bulldogs into 24 turnovers.

Zartman led scoring with seven goals. Algie finished the game with five points off of three goals and two assists. Both Schuber and Tassone registered four points. Scordo tallied three points, while Wall had two and Curran and Boronczyk had one each.

Goalkeeper Remle Harr (Farmington, NY/Fairport) earned the win. Harr played all 60:00 and finished the game with seven saves.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Saturday to open up conference play with a 2:30 pm game at Oneonta.
