In game one, Brockport scored both its runs in the fourth inning. Dumas drew a one out walk and Jordan Bush (Redwood, NY/Alexandria) came in as a pinch runner. Sarah Rosenbarker (Endicott, NY/Maine Endwell) reached on a fielder's choice play and took second on an errant throw as Bush was forced out at second base on the play. Jacqueline Rio (Ronkonkoma, NY/Sachem North) was inserted into the lineup as a pinch runner and Schell followed with a home run to right centerfield to give Brockport a 2-0 lead.
Buffalo State cut the lead in half in the top of the fifth with a two-out single that scored a runner from third. The Bengals tied the score two innings later with a run in the top of the seventh inning, again scoring with two outs in the inning and forcing extra innings.
In the eighth, the Bengals scored with two outs and runner on the corners with a single to left field and the go-ahead run came home from third.
Brockport nearly tied it in the bottom of the inning as Erika Lazzaro (Oswego, NY/Oswego) drove a long fly ball to the fence in right field that Shelly Maggard reached over the fence to catch for the out. Gabrielle Rivers (Syracuse, NY/West Genesee) followed with a double but an infield ground out ended the game.

Rivers walked to start the inning and with one out, Dumas doubled to put runners on second and third. With two outs in the inning, Schell stepped to the plate and drove a single through the left side of the infield to score Rivers for the early lead.
Buffalo State tied it in the third but Schell smashed her second and record-tying homer of the day to start the fourth inning giving Brockport the 2-1 advantage. Starter
